That record leaves them four points clear of second-placed Tromsø at the top of the table, with the club's potent attack having already netted 29 goals while conceding just ten.
Peter Christiansen is leading the line in fine form, topping the club's internal scoring charts with six goals in all competitions. The stat that perhaps best captures Viking's all-round quality, however, is the combination of the league's best attack and best defence sitting in the same dressing room.

Viking's average home league attendance stands at 15,821, with four separate Eliteserien fixtures at Lyse Arena already drawing a full house of 15,900. The stadium, long one of Norway's finest football venues, is once again proving to be a genuine fortress for the Stavanger club.

European Football Awaits
Off the back of last season's triumph, Viking have earned a historic place in the 2026–27 UEFA Champions League play-off round — the most prestigious stage the club has ever reached in European competition. That achievement has added an extra layer of excitement to what is already shaping up to be a landmark year in Stavanger.

After an away fixture at Sarpsborg 08 on 12 July, Viking return to Lyse Arena on 18 July for round 14 of the Eliteserien, when Sandefjord Fotball make the trip to Stavanger for a 20:00 kick-off. The next home league game thereafter is pencilled in for 8 August against Sarpsborg 08, before a string of five further Lyse Arena fixtures carries the season deep into the autumn.
