Viking FK have put together back-to-back commanding home victories at Lyse Arena, reinforcing their place at the top of the Eliteserien table. On 20 September, Lillestrøm were dispatched 3-0 (half-time 2-0), continuing a run of dominant home form that has seen the Stavanger side win all ten of their home league fixtures in 2026.
The victory over Lillestrøm followed a remarkable 8-1 demolition of Kristiansund BK at the same venue on 13 September — a match that ended 5-1 at the break. Viking's home goal tally for the season is now 38 in ten Eliteserien games, with only ten conceded.
A Fortress on the Outskirts of Stavanger
Lyse Arena continues to live up to its billing as one of the most intimidating home grounds in Norwegian football. Attendance figures confirm the fanbase is fully behind the team, with both recent home matches drawing close to the venue's 15,900 capacity — 15,659 were present for the Kristiansund rout, and 15,740 turned out for the win over Lillestrøm.
The arena's artificial surface and the electric atmosphere generated by a near-capacity crowd have been credited as key factors in Viking's imperious home record throughout the campaign.
