Lyse Arena's Perfect-Ten Fortress Fuels Viking's Title Charge

2 min read

Viking FK have won all ten home Eliteserien matches of the 2026 season at Lyse Arena, backed by near-capacity crowds of up to 15,740. With 50 points at the top of the table, the Stavanger club are firmly in the hunt for the title — and a Champions League night against Bayern Munich is just around the corner.

Ten from Ten at Lyse Arena

Viking FK's home record in the 2026 Eliteserien stands apart from anything else in Norwegian football. With the 3-0 victory over Lillestrøm on 20 September — already leading 2-0 at half-time — the club completed a perfect ten wins from ten home league fixtures at Lyse Arena this season.

The two most recent home results tell the story in full: an 8-1 demolition of Kristiansund BK on 13 September, the biggest home win in the entire 2026 Eliteserien season, followed a week later by the commanding defeat of Lillestrøm. Viking's home goal tally for the season stands at 38 in ten Eliteserien matches, with only ten conceded.

A Capacity Crowd Every Time

Lyse Arena is not just a fortress in terms of results — it is also a sell-out phenomenon. The 15,900-capacity ground has been filled to near capacity for every home fixture in 2026. A crowd of 15,659 was present for the Kristiansund rout, and 15,740 turned out for the victory over Lillestrøm.

Average league attendances of close to 15,800 per match confirm that supporters across Stavanger and the surrounding region are showing up in force, match after match, to back a side pushing hard for the Eliteserien title.

Title Charge Continues

Viking currently sit top of the Eliteserien standings with 50 points from 21 matches and a goal difference of +34. The fixture list ahead is demanding, but the home calendar still holds some of the most anticipated dates of the season.

Lyse Arena will host Fredrikstad on 17 October and Tromsø on 25 October before the return of European nights: Bayern Munich visit Stavanger on 13 October in the UEFA Champions League, a tie that has already driven significant ticket demand. With October fixtures set to keep the arena buzzing, the atmosphere on the west coast of Norway shows no sign of cooling down.
