Crown Baseball Wraps U.S. Bank Stadium Schedule Against Bethel
The Crown University baseball team concludes its six-game U.S. Bank Stadium schedule on Tuesday, March 3, facing Bethel University in a doubleheader after dropping both games against St. Scholastica over the weekend.
Crown's baseball team is wrapping up an extended stint at U.S. Bank Stadium with a final doubleheader against Bethel University. The Polars have had a challenging stretch at the Minneapolis venue, suffering losses in their recent contests against the College of St. Scholastica. In their most recent action at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, Crown dropped both games of the doubleheader to St. Scholastica. The first game ended in a 9-0 loss in seven innings, with the Polars managing only two hits in the contest. Caden Esquerra and Keegan Eastman each recorded doubles for Crown's limited offensive output. Jackson Phillip took the start on the mound, while Joshua Light pitched a scoreless sixth inning in relief. The second game proved similarly challenging, with St. Scholastica prevailing 18-4 in seven innings. Esquerra, the team's leadoff hitter and shortstop, went 2-for-2 with an RBI double and a walk, providing one of the bright spots in the loss. Bryan Gerbers, Blayke Reyburn, and Brayden Anderson all contributed hits, while Joshua Van Dam threw 1.2 scoreless innings after entering in the first. Despite the recent struggles, Crown will look to regroup for their final games at U.S. Bank Stadium against Bethel. The doubleheader on Tuesday represents the final opportunity for the Polars to salvage their extended stay at the venue before the team begins its spring break trip to Tucson, Arizona on March 11, where they will face Hamline University. The matchup against Bethel comes after the Royals' dominant 20-3 victory over Crown in game one of their season opener, setting up what should be a competitive pair of contests as both teams continue their early-season campaigns.
